Your admin should share the correct login integration you should use to access your Formative account. If they haven’t yet, message them to find out!
With your subscription, you can access unlimited activity creation- including lessons and formative assessments and collaboration tools and resources with just a few clicks.
Get started with exit tickets, bell ringers, or a get to know your students activity!
Create activities or assessments from scratch, use AI to generate questions or content, or select premade activities from the Formative Public Library or your school or district’s private collection.
Want to go beyond a single activity or assessment? Create end-to-end lessons with lesson blocks, multimedia content, practice sets, AI-powered features and more.
Collaborate with district leaders, fellow educators, and your department or PLC groups to create, share, and analyze data from common assessments and activities.
Once you’ve created or selected the perfect activity, assign or present it to your class.
There are many ways to assign activities to students. Share them through Formative or integrated LMS partners. You can even assign activities to one class, multiple classes, or guest students outside of your rostered classes.
In teacher-paced mode, you can present a lesson and control the pace of instruction so the whole class can progress together.
In game-paced mode, students can compete in a live gamified challenge while you monitor their progress on your Game Mode leaderboard.

Confirm with your IT team how you and your teachers should log into Formative. If you’ve worked with our Onboarding team, you’re likely already set up and ready to log in.

Formative offers multiple ways to bulk roster your classes, and you can contact our Support Team for help with this step.
After logging in to Formative, review your school, district, and department teams to make sure everyone is included and has access to your subscription. You can also review and configure your team’s integrations to allow Formative and your LMS to talk to each other.
Share the good news with your teachers: They can access a Formative School & District or Balanced Assessment Suite subscription!
Email your teachers to share the correct integrated login method for their accounts. Reinforce these emails by communicating the information in person at your in-service meetings.
Promote schoolwide and districtwide assessment and lesson collaboration. You can set up a private library for your organization so colleagues can collaborate on activities and assessments. You can also create common assessments to share for more consistent data tracking across your organization.
Monitor teacher and student usage and progress in the Admin Tab.
You can get details on common assessment performance, view teacher activity across your organization, and look in-depth at students’ standards progress over time.
